MaxCam: Connected Vehicle Dash Camera
The power is in the data. The proof is in the picture.
A high performance camera that can be a standalone solution, but provides integrated video when physically connected to your telematics hardware. MaxCam complements telematics event data to support incident investigation and driver training standards, providing a single visual and vehicle data reference.
By combining video evidence with vehicle data, video telematics provides a more complete picture of how your vehicles operate.

How MaxCam works
Automatic Event Detection
Detect collisions, unsafe driving, and critical incidents, triggering automatic uploads as an event in your Airmax Portal.
Capture the scene
MaxCam records HD video before, during and after the trigger on the in-vehicle SD card.
LiveCheck enables users to view a live video stream from the vehicle.
Upload the file
The built-in 4G modem sends the event footage to the secure Airmax Azure environment while the vehicle stays in service. Video footage is securely stored and instantly accessible, ensuring quick access when needed.
Review the evidence
Fleet managers can view, download and analyse event footage in the Airmax Portal at any time to resolve claims and improve safety.
Road-facing view in one compact unit
Combined Video and Vehicle Telematics Platform
Bring incident footage and telematics data into a single view. MaxCam links road-facing video with your existing Airmax telematics so you can see what happened, where it happened and how the vehicle was being driven.
Built around Airmax telematics data
Telemetry provides speed, location and event triggers. MaxCam records matching HD video so every incident has a clear picture and a full set of driving data.
Single portal for video and data
Video clips appear inside the Airmax Portal against the same events your teams already use. There is no extra portal to log into and no second system to manage.
Less admin for control rooms and IT
One supplier, one platform and one support team. Airmax manages the video integration so your teams focus on incidents rather than moving data between systems.
Secure-by-Design for Evidential Video
MaxCam uses the same secure environment as your Airmax telematics platform, giving you an evidential chain of custody from vehicle to portal.
Hosted in the Airmax Azure environment
Video is transmitted into Airmax’s Microsoft Azure environment and stored in line with your existing telematics data policies, with a standard 60-day retention period. Videos can be saved locally within your own secure infrastructure for long-term storage.
Controlled access with existing logins
User access is managed through your current Airmax Portal accounts and permissions, so only authorised staff can view or download clips.
Evidential trail for every clip
Time, date, user actions and related telematics events are recorded for each video, supporting formal investigations and internal reviews.
FAQs
Why do businesses choose forward-facing dash camera views over other options?
Forward-facing dash cameras are popular because they capture clear video evidence of what happens on the road while respecting driver privacy. The camera focuses only on the road ahead, which makes it easier to gain buy-in from drivers and unions, while still giving you trusted footage linked to speed, location and incident data.
How quickly can I access and view video from MaxCam?
Event video is available within minutes of an incident when the vehicle has network coverage. MaxCam automatically records the event and uploads the clip to the video platform. When MaxCam is integrated with Airmax telematics, those clips are tied to live vehicle data in the Airmax Portal, so you can jump straight from an event or alert to the matching video.
What happens to the video if my vehicle is out of range of the cellular network?
All video is still recorded locally on the MaxCam unit, even if the vehicle moves out of coverage. Once the vehicle is back in range, MaxCam reconnects and uploads the stored clips to the platform. When used with Airmax telematics, the tracking data is also backfilled so you keep a complete record of the journey and incident.
What does the forward-facing dash cam installation process look like?
Installation is straightforward. The MaxCam unit is mounted to the inside of the windscreen using automotive-grade adhesive, then wired into vehicle power and, where required, the Airmax telematics hardware. Our approved installation partners ensure the device is positioned correctly, cables are hidden, and the camera remains secure through vibration, weather and daily use.
