Step 1: Remove the four Torx screws located on the right-hand side, then remove the complete panel.

Step 2: Remove the plastic cap from the OBD port and discard.

Step 3: Insert the vehicle key into the seat lock to release the seat base. It is located on the left-hand side at the rear of the seat base. Then, lift off the seat base.

Step 4: Connect the OBD harness to the OEM OBD port, then route it along the bike frame up into the space below the seat base.

Step 5: Run the OBD harness along the bike frame up into the space below the seat base. Ensure there is some slack in the wire to allow for movement.

Step 6: To remove the radio pod lid, turn on the ignition and press the release button (highlighted). Once pressed, you can lift the pod lid at the rear.

Step 7: Remove the Torx screw and slide out the rubber grommet. Move the cowling to access the OBD harness you are routing. Feed the cable towards the rear of the bike, then refit the cowling and grommet once complete.

Step 8: Drill a 5-6mm hole and secure the RTU inside the radio housing using the provided consumables, such as a cable tie.

Recommendation: Use Fleet Harness tape to secure the end of the OBD cable. Then, connect the black Molex connector to the RTU.

Step 9: Place the antenna on the radio housing and plug the blue and brown FAKRA connections into the RTU.

Step 10: Connect the OBD harness to the OEM OBD port and follow the standard commissioning process.

Step 11: Power on & commission the unit. For non-emergency service installations, use the following link to complete the self-commissioning process.

For emergency service installations call the Airmax Customer Service team on 0333 358 3489.

Step 12: Secure the antenna with a sticky pad as far away from the radio as possible. Ensure the blue sticker faces upwards.

Step 13: Wrap the OBD cable and port with tape, ensuring it is fully covered to prevent water ingress.

Step 14: Secure the entire OBD cable and port to the bike frame using cable ties.

Step 15: Apply the Airmax sticker as shown in the photo above.

Step 16: Once the Airmax telematics are successfully installed, refit the radio pod, seat base, and right-hand side panel onto the motorbike.
