Airmax Remote and Ring Carnation form strategic technology partnership to offer most leading remote monitoring service available for emergency services
(18/08/2021) -, Airmax Remote, the vehicle telematics and data services provider, today announced a partnership with Ring Carnation, the vehicle conversion electrical specialist, which will combine the strength of both the Airmax Remote telematics solution and Ring Carnation’s ‘genisys™’ solution to create a fully connected intelligent switching and power management system. This ensures critical on-board devices initially for the emergency services can be monitored remotely for downtime management and making sure procedures are followed or vehicles are performing as intended. In addition to the emergency services, the solution will also be rolled out to corporate fleets that have unique chassis builds.
Ring Carnation (an Osram company) provides a programmable logic to its control systems that are designed to monitor voltage levels throughout the vehicle conversion and custom chassis builds and distribute power to where it is needed most, thereby maintaining safe vehicle operation and allowing critical equipment such as defibrillators to operate at maximum efficiency. Ring Carnation remain market leaders serving this specialised market with over 80% of all the United Kingdom’s front-line ambulances fitted with ‘genisys™’ as standard.
Battery life is essential to ensuring effective functionality on-board the emergency vehicle, and Airmax Remote’s connected telematics solution ensures that battery life can be monitored not just by the driver, but remotely too. The partnership with Airmax Remote also delivers Ring Carnation’s ‘genisys™’ solution thirty-two bespoke conversion assignments, an increase from the previous six, including pre checks, battery shoreline, panic alarms and blue lights, to name but a few.
A volunteer-led, charitable non-governmental organisation that has been working with Airmax throughout its recent 18-month product enhancement period claims “with this enhancement of connected services, hundreds of man hours will be saved, in claims from members of the public. We can simply prove where every vehicle has been to defend our organisation via alerts in real time, enabling us to react very quickly.”
In addition, any upgrades or technical faults can now be monitored in real-time remotely as part of a internal monitoring tool via IoT connectivity. This ensures that faults can be diagnosed and maybe fixed without the need for a technician to visit the vehicle, thereby ensuring minimal vehicle downtime and effective resource management.
The partnership will also enable Ring Carnation to provide telematics services with Airmax as preferred supplier to its entire customer base, with a simple retro fitting exercise which can be installed as a turn key solution at the builders/convertors.
Commenting on the partnership, Richard Perham, Managing Director, Airmax Remote said: “Airmax Remote and Ring Carnation have many vital years experience of working with the emergency services and I’m excited about the future and what we can deliver as a collective. With in-house engineering and design teams we can enable rapid deployment. Both organisations benefit from full ownership rights and control of product development which includes own manufacturing capabilities meaning both products are made in Britain and can keep costs controlled which ultimately benefit the UK market.”
Richard Morley, Commercial Director, Ring Carnation comments: ‘The vehicles on which our products are installed often work in difficult environments, in which consistent performance is essential. Now, with the partnership and functionality delivered by Airmax Remote, the ‘genisys™’ solution now has IoT connectivity and thirty-two insights, which can be monitored remotely. We fully believe that the new partnership with Airmax Remote has created the most important and valuable emergency vehicle monitoring solution available today.”
Carnation and Airmax will both be exhibiting at the 47th NAPFM at the Telford International centre on 27th and 28th October but with own stands to showcase their product portfolio on stands 30 and 61.
