Infinis appoints Airmax Remote as telematics provider for its fleet - Airmax

Infinis has appointed Airmax Remote as its telematics provider for its fleet and will implement it across all of its 180 vehicles.

After a tender process the agreement was made and Infinis will receive Airmax Remote’s premium plus telematics, which will provide greater visibility of its employees, who often operate on their own in remote UK locations.

The telematics installed will also be able to inform fleet managers about its driver’s journey details and vehicle status, whilst also being able to predict arrival times and improve its fleet’s time management.

Duane Longthorn, Infinis head of procurement, said: “Telematics is about communicating the driving data and using this to influence and improve driver behaviour, not only the obvious speed elements, but also harsh braking, over-revving and idling along with the improved elements for logistics and planning.

“At Infinis we invest heavily in fuel and the maintenance of the fleet and the Airmax Remote system provides us with a suite of reports that assist us in improving driver safety behaviour and driving down fleet costs.

“We are very proud to be one of the few companies in the UK that is delivering a positive impact against climate change and this technology is proving to be a valuable tool in assisting to deliver our vision of generating a low carbon future.”

Infinis’ fleet consists of 180 vehicles made up on Vauxhall Vivaro vans and Toyota Hilux 4×4, with these vehicles generating over 100,000 hours of driving time and total mileage over 3.5 million miles per year.

Richard Perham, group managing director of Airmax Remote, said: “We are delighted to have delivered all the benefits and savings to Infinis via their adoption of our premium plus service.

“The figures representing improvements in driver behaviour further illustrate the power of our technology in delivering significant change, while empowering and incentivising employees and reducing costs for the business.”

Recently, Edinburgh Leisure reduced fleet overheads by 30% after implementing Airmax Remote’s Premium telematics product.

The organisation, which manages a number of sporting venues and develops sport and leisure services on behalf of City of Edinburgh Council, had the technology, which can analyse the time each driver has spent behind the wheel as well as locate them, fitted to its 24 vans.
